Whenever someone hires us to plan their perfect proposal I instantly know they are smart, thoughtful, romantic partners, and they have it together! When Satish called us I asked him all about his now fiance, Tara, and he told me she would prefer a night time proposal when she’s looking her best, she loves true crime, their new kitten, games and activities, and Vail is very special to them because Satish told Tara he loved her for the first time in front of the martini sculpture outside of The Solaris. We pride ourselves on creating unique personal proposals, and Satish gave us so much detailed information to work with! A true crime proposal would have been so unique and personal for Tara, but even I couldn’t figure out how to make it romantic! I’m obsessed with true crime, and what I love about it is the mystery! Since Tara loves activities, and probably mystery if she’s like me, we came up with a scavenger hunt! Satish took this to the next level by inviting 14 of their closest friends and family members to surprise Tara! She had no idea any of them were coming! On the day of the proposal, Satish took Tara to Piney River Ranch, which is a 45 min. drive from Vail Village, to go hiking because he didn’t want his friends and family to have to hide in their rooms all day. Tara was suspicious because Satish hates hiking!
That night, Tara and Satish enjoyed dinner at La Tour, and then the first clue was delivered by Tara’s cousin, Beth. Again, Tara didn’t know any friends or family were in Vail!
The First Clue led the couple to Root and Flower, where Tara’s best friend, Alex, was waiting for them! You might be wondering how the couple didn’t notice the photographers. Barry was pretending to be taking photos for Root and Flower’s website, and my assistant, Anne, was pretending to be his date! Toni and I stayed together and were very sneaky as well! We even changed our clothes half way through the scavenger hunt. After the couple enjoyed drinks at Root and Flower, Alex read the next clue which led Tara and Satish to Sundae for ice cream. Tara’s brother, Justin, was waiting for them! I asked Justin to order a cone rather than a cup because the clue was made to fit a cone. The next clue led the couple to their adorable kitten, Milo! The last clue led Tara and Satish to the proposal spot in front of the sculpture where Satish told Tara he loved her for the first time! Pro tip, if you’re proposing, don’t forget to get a special ring box for photos! Of course Satish thought of that! I had Tara and Satish’s friends and family hiding around the corner, so they could all see the proposal, and then they revealed themselves! I started tearing up when Tara saw her mom! After the proposal, there was an after party at Frost at The Sebastian where the couple was staying! Tara loves the hot chocolate that the Four Seasons makes, but due to covid, the Four Seasons wouldn’t make it ( which is why I didn’t include them in the scavenger hunt), so The Sebastian did a special hot chocolate bar for the after party! The couple’s friends and family members brought gifts! I didn’t even tell them to do that, and I didn’t know gifts were coming! I also have no idea where that Welcome sign came from! Those that couldn’t make it to Vail sent me congratulations messages, I made a video, and we played it at Frost. Even Milo joined the party. They trained him to walk on a leash! While everyone enjoyed Frost, we did the rose petal turndown for one last surprise. Vendors and Venues:VENUES: La Tour, Root and Flower, Sundae, The Solaris, The Sebastian
