When Todd hired me to help plan his engagement to Kelli, he told me she loves horses and is an equestrian, she likes rustic things, she doesn’t eat carbs, and he wanted the proposal to be really special. Together we came up with ideas, and Todd decided on a sleighed proposal. We only had 2 weeks to plan, so I had to act fast.
I immediately called Bearcat Stables (which is in the Vail Valley, about 20 min. drive from Beaver Creek.) and Nicole, the owner, was so accommodating! We booked the space, so it could be private.
When Kelli and Todd arrived they enjoyed a sleigh ride. The sleigh was beautifully decorated by Sweet Pea Designs with garland. I made the sign. The TK is the couple’s logo! Kelli didn’t get it at first. She was like ” That looks like our TK.”
Toni Axelrod, the photographer, acted as the second wrangler during the ride. Halfway through the sleigh ride, they stumbled upon the proposal spot! Kelli was so surprised!
After the sleigh ride they had lunch in the cabin. We chose Rocky Mountain Raclette for the caterer because raclette is cozy on a cold day, it’s a fun experience to grill your own food, and it’s low carb if you don’t eat the bread! It was perfect!
After lunch Kelli and Todd checked into their hotel at The Park Hyatt, Beaver Creek. They walked into an upgraded suite (compliments of The Hyatt), a beautiful rose petal turndown with their logo in rose petals on the bed, lots of pictures of them, including one from the proposal that day, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries.
